Congratulations Sam for graduating and completing your Honours!

Sam’s presenting her Honours Project “Towards Effective Urban Conservation Planning: Optimising Habitat Network Area and Connectivity to Meet Montreal’s Thirty Percent Protected Area Target by 2030”

On April 17th, Sam presented her Honours Thesis at the Biology Honours Symposium, which was a full day of presentations from the undergraduate Biology Honours students at McGill.

Sam’s presentation was about looking at different ways we could expand the CMM Protected Area Network to meet the Global Biodiversity Framework goal of 30% protection by 2030. A variety of professors, undergraduate students, and postgraduate students were in attendance, from all sorts of disciplines in the department, from behaviour to evolution to cancer biology. Her presentation was well received and it was a great opportunity to hear about some of the research happening in the Biology department.

Sam will be graduating this summer and has completed her Honours.

I’m very grateful for my time in the Gonzalez lab, and everything I’ve learned from working with such an amazing group of people. I’m very excited for my next chapter as I move on to UBC to start a Masters in Resources, Environment, and Sustainability co-supervised by Dr. Claire Kremen and Dr. Josephine Gantois.

It was great to have you in the Gonzalez Lab and best of luck in your future endeavours!
